NSW Revenue has issued an warning that it is currently the target of a SMS, email and letter scam that is using Revenue NSW branding.
This scam is deceitfully using NSW Revenue and Service NSW branding to solicit payments for fraudulent fine notices. The NSW Revenue is currently experiencing high volumes of calls due to this scam.
Service NSW branding is also being used.
How to Verify Your Fines:
Customers can confirm and review their fines online via
- myPenalty (https://www.apps09.revenue.nsw.gov.au/customer_service/finesonline/login),
- myEnforcement Order (https://www.apps09.revenue.nsw.gov.au/customer_service/fss/index.php) or
- MyserviceNSW account (https://account.service.nsw.gov.au/).
Report Suspicious Communications
NSW Revenue also said that if you receive any communications that don’t seem quite right, you can report these incidents to Scamwatch (https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/report-a-scam).
